Thank You!

Fr. John Riccardo
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your merciful love in the morning, and Your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For You, O Lord, have made me glad by Your work; at the works of Your hands I sing for joy. How great are Your works, O Lord!” (Psalm 92:1-5).
“What just happened?”
That’s the question I keep asking the Lord in prayer after this past weekend. We in ACTS XXIX were blessed to host 1000 friends from across the country and beyond for an event entitled “The Jesus Conference: Mobilizing the Church for the World He Loves.” Though we called it a conference, we tried to make clear from the outset it was nothing of the sort.
Men and women came from more than 270 cities and 36 States — with 1000 people on a waiting list! I’ve tried to find the right words to convey what the Lord did over the course of less than three full days…but I can’t. Yet.
So, instead of a normal “Thoughts from the Trailer” this week, I simply want to use this space to say thank you to all those who came, and to the countless others who were covering us in prayer — especially the more than 200 religious communities who daily pray for us in ACTS XXIX and our intentions.
I especially, however, want to use this space to thank God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for bathing us in grace, drawing us closer into fellowship, and reminding us of the mission that belongs to us as disciples, namely, to rescue, renew and transform the human family into the family of God.
ACTS XXIX Prayer Intentions
October 2026
For all bishops and priests, that they would experience ever more deeply the Father’s love and then as they do so shepherd the Church with His heart - seeking the lost, binding up the wounded, strengthening the weary, and courageously leading and equipping God’s people into the mission entrusted to them.
For the Jesus Conference, that the Lord would pour out abundant graces upon all who gather; that we would be attentive, docile and responsive to all He desires to do in us and through us; and that He would mobilize us ever more deeply for His mission to rescue, renew, and transform the human family into the family of God.
For the Rescue LIVE revival in the Diocese of Crookston, that God would prepare the hearts of all who come; that together we would be overwhelmed anew by the beauty and power of the gospel, surrender our lives more fully to Jesus in faith, and be equipped and mobilized to go out on mission.
For our time with Bishop Stephen Parkes and the presbyterate of the Diocese of Savannah, that the Holy Spirit would make our time together an occasion of deep renewal, restoration, encouragement, and fraternity; and that every priest would leave strengthened in his identity and renewed in his vocation.
For all those who partner with us to advance the mission of ACTS XXIX, that God would richly bless and reward them for their faithful generosity, support, and prayer; that they would know the fruit their partnership is bearing; and that the Lord would provide abundantly for every need as we seek to be faithful to the mission He has entrusted to us.
